Your difference is your strength
At school, I found reading and writing really tough. I didn’t know why. While others flew through essays, I was stuck on the first paragraph.
Then, at 10, I was diagnosed as dyslexic.
This ‘learning disability’ certificate (one of many, with original now-rusty paperclip) - didn’t solve everything, but it gave me and my parents clarity. It explained a lot. And it helped us adapt.
I gravitated towards subjects where I could think in logical, visual, and creative ways.
That led me to study Industrial Design at university - and then to a career in product design and development at Dyson, where different ways of thinking are not just accepted… they’re essential.
Dyslexia hasn’t held me back – it shaped how I solve problems, collaborate, lead people and build things that matter.
